Scared -- really scared
TL: Hi, I am the momma that Dollie and Arrt talk about. I am posting because something happened that scared me really bad.
On Saturday I was getting ready to head out.....when I heard the saddest mournful howling I have ever heard. It was Arrt.
Somehow he and Dollie must have been tussling like they do.....and her collar got all tangled up around Arrt's lower jaw. They had been flipping around, I guess.....and it had got tight enough that his jaw was hurting, and Dollie had passed out.
I thought she was dead! Oh my goodness!
I ran out and had to smart Arrt to stop him from fighting the collar....he was in pain, and scared too. Dollie was just plain limp and being dragged through the mud. Once the shock of the smack got through to him, he stopped......I had to literally roll Dollie Mae over about three times to get the collar loose enough that I could get Arrt's jaw out.
He immediately ran......
Dollie just laid there. I had all kinds of thoughts hit me. Like how do you do CPR on a pug? Could I get her to a vet? What do I do? WHAT do I doooooo?
I picked her face up in my hands and started rubbing her and yelling "Dollie you have to breathe, come on Dollie.....BREATHE!" Nothing happened for what seemed like ages.....then sweet Dollie rolled her eyes up to look into mine.
THANK YOU GOD! Once she looked at me, I just knew we were going to make it out of this mess.
I yanked her collar off, and got her to stand up.....rubbing her sides and rubbing her face over and over. We then went inside and I got a cold wet rag and kept doing the same thing. I kept it up till she attempted to walk away on her own. I then put her in her crate to lay down and rest.
Arrt was still out back and boy was he fussing at the door. He was worried about his Dollie.
I let him in and he ran to her crate to snuffle at her through the door.....then went into his crate and laid down. I left them alone for a bit to get their strength back.
They no longer wear the collars.....we are going to put their harnesses on full time.
I am soooooooo thankful that my Higher Power was watching over our two puggers. I am thankful as I write this that I can reach and pet my Dollie and know she is okay.
"D" I am glad too! All I know is Arrt and I were playing and then mom was yelling at me to breathe! So I did.
"A" I told Dollie I was sorry this happened. It was an accident.....I am glad my cousin is okay. And I am glad mom hear me when we needed some help.
